The Greek column is an icon in architecture. They were created approx. in the year 600 before Christ. The columns have a different appearance depending on where in ancient Greece they were created. This column is an Ionic pillar symbolizing wisdom, as the volutes (spiral at the top) depicts a scroll. Maybe that is why columns are used on many buildings all over the world today. The Ionic columns are today used on buildings ranging from the White House to local courthouses and schools. This pendant was the very first Melina bead which was designed.
